Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
