Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28k power users in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
